October is one of the most important months in London’s art calendar, with major fairs including Frieze London and Frieze Masters bringing collectors, galleries and artists from around the world to the city.

Alongside the fairs, institutions unveil major autumn exhibitions, commercial galleries open some of their strongest shows of the year, and London’s leading auction houses hold key contemporary and modern art sales. This guide brings together a selection of what not to miss in London throughout October.
