Pedder Building, 12 Pedder Street, Central, Hong Kong
Housed in the historic Pedder Building, the exhibition presents works ranging from the 1930s to today, exploring the dynamic relationships between artists of different cultural and generational backgrounds — fostering both international and intergenerational dialogue.

Following the success of What’s Up – North East South West in London in October 2018 during Frieze, Lawrence Van Hagen announced the second part of the exhibition in Hong Kong during Art Basel. The exhibition opened on the fifth floor of the historical Pedder Building, presenting works from the 1930’s (up) to today, exploring the various relationships between artists hailing from different parts of Europe, Asia, the Americas, Africa, and carrying different background, cultural heritage and artistic influence; hence creating a space for dialogue on an international scale. All artists presented in What’s Up – North East South West, have enjoyed recent exhibitions in institutions or biennials, or can currently be seen in museum displays around the world.
