POP: FAME, LOVE AND POWER is a landmark exhibition tracing American Pop Art's golden era from the 1960s, featuring twelve iconic artists.

This exhibition at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre is a landmark exhibition journey through the golden years of the Pop Art movement in America, from the 1960s onwards, showcasing twelve of the most influential artists from this period. Across four floors, this exhibition, this exhibition will explore three pivotal themes – Fame, Love and Power – which heavily influences the development of the Pop genre. With roots in the changing cultural and political landscape of America during 1960s-1980s, the Pop Art movement transformed ‘popular culture’ into high art, drawing inspiration from mass advertising, celebrity culture and comic books. Each of the works on view directly responds to these three subject matters, opening up new dialogues with the other artworks around them. The fourth floor will be dedicated to a unique installation titled ‘Silver Clouds’ by Andy Warhol, which will immerse the audience in one of Warhol’s few interactive art installations.

American Pop is undergoing something of a renaissance, with major retrospectives happening around the globe. This exhibition is a landmark exhibition bringing together iconic works from the most notable museums, artist estates, art foundations and private art collections globally. The works of most of these artists have never been exhibited in India, creating a one-of-a-kind opportunity for the Indian audience to engage intimately with these artists and artworks for the very first time.
