Mathias Bensimon

b. 1996, Paris, France

Mathias Bensimon (b. 1996, Paris) is a French artist whose practice explores light, colour and perception through painting, installation and monumental frescoes. A graduate of the Beaux-Arts de Paris, he creates atmospheric, often large-scale works in which layers of translucent colour seem to radiate from within the surface. His practice is informed by experimentation with material, movement and space, considering light as a medium through which the boundaries between the visible and invisible can be explored.
