Marina Perez Simão

Marina Perez Simão (b. 1981) is a Brazilian artist whose compositions emerge through layered washes of colour, fluid transitions, and rhythmic curves that suggest horizons, rivers, and skies without ever resolving into representational form. Working primarily with oil and watercolour, Perez Simão builds her compositions through a process of accumulation and erasure. Transparent layers overlap to create depth and luminosity, allowing colour to become the primary vehicle of expression.
