Leon Xu
b. 1995, Zhongshan, China
Leon Xu (b. 1995) is a Brooklyn-based artist whose work explores memory, emotion, and place through the lens of fleeting sensory experiences he calls “brain tingles.” Born in Zhongshan, China, and raised in San Francisco, he transforms instinctive moments of light, color, and movement into paintings that blur the boundary between image and sensation. Using acrylic, airbrush, and spray paint, Xu creates soft, refracted surfaces where memory appears mutable and constantly shifting.
